Thank you for helping little minds dream big!
We are inviting YOU, and eleven other top picture book artists to be part of the 2027 SQUIGL Club Art Calendar. A one-of-a-kind voluntary art project, teaming the best illustrators across Australia with the best kids from remote and regional communities to create something pretty darn special.
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:
1.
Kids from SQUIGL Clubs across the country (and from the Arctic) are given a theme to illustrate as part of their monthly SQUIGL Club.
Their artwork will be collated for you (& eleven others) to choose from.
2.
The theme for 2027 is ‘Something that loves the sea’.
3.
Access to the kids entries will be sent out to you via email.
Hop in and place your name in the box provided to reserve your young SQUIGL.
Once selected, (if required) a digital file will be sent to you to combine into a new illustration.
4.
With an emphasis on blowing young minds and creativity, you include their art into your new art piece.
As a guide, kids artwork can be roughly 10-20% of the final work.
(See example below)
5.
Proceeds from the SQUIGL Club Art Calendar are reinvested into supporting literacy and creativity in regional communities—funding access to Storyfest Regional Festivals (tickets and transport) and delivering books, art and opportunities to kids who might otherwise miss out.
6.
Timings: You will have approximately 2 MONTHS to complete your art piece, starting after you select your kids SQUIGL in June. (File delivery specs below)
THE END RESULT:
A stunning, premium art calendar, featuring each young artist published alongside their picture book hero. Which is bound to keep the outback postie busy, spark imaginations and get pencils scratching and SQUIGL-ing across Australia and beyond.
